V-Day Outfit Inspiration

Happy Wednesday!!

Valentine’s Day is around the corner and even though I think it is kind of a ridiculous holiday if it’s an opportunity to dress up and be wined and dined I’ll take it!  I thought it would be fun to do a round up of Valentine’s Day outfits and accessories for whatever your plans might be.  Whether it’s going out to a fancy dinner or just hanging out with friends, I have posted  some great options for every scenario. Since most of these are not strongly holiday themed, you can wear them for plenty of other occasions as well.

Red dress- You can never go wrong wearing a sexy red dress for Valentine’s day.  This dress is perfect for a fancy night out or a single and ready to mingle cocktail party. 😉

Pink lace dress- If  red isn’t your jam, then this pink DVF dress is another great option.  I love  the gold exposed zipper down the back.

Red lace dress- Here is another great option for a fancy night out but looking for something a little more conservative.  Another pretty choice is this pencil dress with cap sleeves. Both are ideal for a wedding as well.

Jumpsuit-  This blush colored jumpsuit is adorable and I love how it’s conservative in the front but hello sexy in the back!

Heart T-shirt-  This T-shirt is perfect for a day date or casual night out and would look great paired with distressed jeans or black leather pants.  Add a pop of red or pink with shoes or a clutch (see above).

Hot pink shirt- Love the color of this hot pink shirt and it would look great with jeans and  floral heels for a casual night out. Here’s a similar option as well.

Red tassel heels– I’m obsessed with these shoes!  They definitely make a statement and would look amazing with a simple black dress for something dressy or a white or black t-shirt and jeans for something more casual.

Fuchsia heels- How gorgeous is this color?  Again, these heels make such a statement that you can be pretty simple with your outfit.

Red Flats- I’m loving the lace up trend as I’m sure you can tell but I really love these because they can be worn with anything.  They look great paired with skirts, jeans, work pants and even shorts.  They are definitely a little pricey but I think you’d wear them over and over.  Here is less expensive option.

YSL Clutch- Sometimes it’s all in the accessories and this gorgeous pink clutch is definitely all you need to complete your outfit.

Lip Clutch- How fun is this lip clutch? This would look super cute with a black dress or any casual outfit.

Pale Pink Clutch- If you are looking to add a subtle touch of pink to your outfit this pale pink clutch is perfect.  Rose Quartz is the 2016 Pantone color of the year so I’m sure you will see alot of this color in the months ahead.

Gift Guide 2015: For Her

Happy hump day! I have rounded up some of my favorite holiday gift ideas for the ladies!

Holiday Party Looks Under $100

Tis the season of holiday parties!! From work parties to New Years Eve and everything in between I’ve rounded up 12 festive looks under $100 for celebrating the season in style. Click on any of the images below for more details.

Red A-line Dress- This dress comes in black as well and would be suitable for any holiday party.

Green Dress- I love that it’s simple in the front but sexy in the back. This dress comes in red as well.

Black Lace Romper- This little number is probably not appropriate for a work party but would be perfect for a New Years Eve Party.

Sequin Leggings- If you are looking for something fun but comfortable these sequin leggings are perfect. All you need to add is a simple black or white top.

Tis the Season Tee- I love the idea of pairing a graphic tee with a red Midi skirt or tulle skirt. Add a bold pearl or sparkly statement necklace with it.

Red Jumpsuit- This jumpsuit also comes in black and would be fabulous for a work party.

Jacquard Dress- There’s something about black and gold jacquard that screams holiday party to me. This dress would be ideal for a work party.

Red Midi Skirt- With a simple white top and some leopard pumps this outfit would be very festive for any type of party.

Tulle Skirt- I’ve been kind of obsessed with tulle skirts lately but honestly when are you going to wear one? A holiday party would be a great opportunity and so adorable with a graphic tee or a denim button down.

Black Midi Satin Skirt- I love this look with a crop top. But if you aren’t totally comfortable wearing a crop top (which I am not after having 2 kids), a tank top with a statement necklace would be just as cute!

Sequin Dress- All you need are black or nude heels and you are ready to ring in the New Year!

Casual Red Dress- This casual red dress is perfect for a work party, school play, or even family photos. It’s a dress that you can easily dress up by adding a statement necklace and something that you’d definitely wear on repeat for other occasions. I could see this dress being really cute in the summer with turquoise jewelry.

Have a great weekend!

Steal Her Look For Less-Olivia Palermo

When it comes to fashion Olivia Palermo has totally got it figured out. She always looks amazing from head to toe. Let’s face it, she could make a trash bag look super chic. I’ve been following her style for awhile now…pretty much since she appeared on The City and she still remains to be one of my favorite style icons. Here is one of Olivia’s “casual” looks in AG distressed jeans and Schutz booties that I wanted to create for less.

Steal Her Look

1.) Army Green Drape Front Coat-$27.00
2.) Fringe Bootie-$169.00
3.) Distressed Knee Jean Legging-$80.00

In case you haven’t heard the great news, Olivia is partnering with Nordstrom to design a year’s worth of collections for the brands’s private label Chelsea28. It will include four seasonal collections and the first set of designs will be available in stores this February! The upcoming collaborative range will be priced from $68-$448. I’m super excited about this and cannot wait to see the collections.

Have a great weekend!

Housewarming Gift Ideas

Housewarming parties are so much fun but what do you bring the host? I feel like buying a housewarming gift can be really challenging sometimes. Yes a bottle of wine or an orchid is great but it’s so predictable and not very personal. Lately, I’ve been buying lots of housewarming gifts so I thought I would round up some of my favorite gift ideas that I think are thoughtful, personal and most importantly useful.

Moscow Mule Mugs– These copper mugs are all the rage right now. They are great looking mugs for cold and hot beverages and the monogramming adds a nice personal touch.

Monogrammed Cheese Board– This portable cheese board is gorgeous and comes with all the right utensils built in underneath.  Great for entertaining at your house or picnics.

Coasters- Everyone can use coasters and these pretty agate coasters are perfect for entertaining. When they aren’t being used as coasters, you can display them on a book shelf or as a paperweight on your desk.

Address Stamp This is probably one of my favorites!  A monogrammed address stamp. Definitely not something at the top of your to do list when you move into a new house but so great to have when sending out thank you cards.

Basket– Everyone can use a nice basket in their house.  Think of a theme like, kitchen utensils, gourmet foods, toiletries, bath towels etc. and fill up that basket to fit that theme.  Afterwards they’ll have a basket to put somewhere in the house to use for storage, laundry, toys etc.

Candle-Candles are a great housewarming gift.  But pick a subtle scent…don’t go all Yankee Candle. Just whizzing by those stores gives me an instant headache!  I’m obsessed with the Jo Malone and Diptyque candles.  The packaging is lovely, they smell amazing and when the candle is done, you can clean it out and use it to hold makeup brushes in your bathroom.

Apron-An adorable apron for a friend that cooks or bakes would be a great gift.  You could also pair it with a cookbook.

Tea Set– For your tea lover friend a gorgeous tea set would be an ideal gift.

Topiary-Everyone can always use a pop of green in their house.  But not everyone has a green thumb including me! Nothing survives more than 2 months in my house! 🙁 This boxwood topiary looks and feels like the real deal but requires no maintenance.

Throw-This is another one of my favorites.  Everyone can use a throw in their house and a monogrammed one is even better. My only advice on this one is to stick with neutral colors so it can go anywhere.

Monogrammed Soaps-When it comes to housewarming gifts I like to buy things that no one would think to buy or splurge on but would be nice to have.  This is definitely one of them. It will add a little touch of luxury to their bathroom.

Spice Rack-This kit is great for new homeowners. It comes with 16 different spices all labeled in refillable containers. And it’s on a beautiful wooden spinner that you can tuck away in your pantry or cupboard. I’m pretty sure they’ll use this for many years to come.

Hope you enjoyed my ideas!  Have a fabulous weekend!

Fall Wardrobe Essentials

Now that the Autumn temps are here, I wanted to do a round up of 12 basic and essential pieces that will help you create multiple Fall looking outfits. Fall weather is so unpredictable, which means it’s all about layering and having options. If you invest wisely in these versatile and timeless pieces, you will never be at a loss for what to wear.

Trench Coat– You can’t get more versatile than a beige trench coat. Whether you pick up a less expensive option or decide to splurge on a beautiful Burberry, it’s definitely worth the investment.

Striped Shirt– A navy and white striped shirt is classic. For Fall, style it with a skirt, faux leather leggings or jeans.

Riding Boot– Nothing says Fall more than a great pair of riding boots! Go with black or brown and I guarantee your will be wearing them on repeat for many years to come.

Plaid Shirt– Plaid is the ultimate Fall print this season. Pair a plaid shirt with distressed jeans, black leggings or a skirt and you are good to go!

Ballet Flat– A classic pair of ballet flats will make your feet and your wardrobe happy. Wraparound ankle laces are on trend this season and I’m loving this affordable pair by Steve Madden.

Chunky Sweater– Everyone needs a “go to” chunky sweater. Pair with leggings or distressed jeans and you have yourself a warm, comfy outfit.

Rain Boot– I’m not a fan of rain but I am a fan of wearing my glossy red Hunter boots! They always get me out of that rainy day funk. Everyone needs a great rain boot and Hunter boots will not disappoint.

Chambray Shirt– Chambray shirts have been popular for years and I can see why. They are great for layering underneath a sweater or puffer vest and pretty much goes with everything. Style it with leggings, skirts or colored jeans. For a dressier look, add a statement necklace and heels.

Black Leggings-Black leggings are kind of a no brainer. You need them. Faux leather leggings are fun for an edgier look.

Jeans-Everyone needs a great pair of jeans and you don’t have to break the bank to get a good pair. Some of my best jeans have been under $100. Love these slightly distressed ones by BlankNYC.

Puffer Vest-Vests in a solid color are perfect for Fall weather. Style it with a plaid, chambray or striped shirt like the ones I suggested above.

Booties-Booties are my best friend…especially if you are shorty like me (5’3). I particularly like the ones that are wedges or have a chunky heel because they give you the height but are comfortable at the same time. Booties not only look great with skinny jeans and leggings but casual dresses and skirts as well.

A Wrap-Everyone needs at least one wrap in their wardrobe. I’m obsessed with these wraps by Bobeau. I have them in 2 colors and definitely want to get more. They have a fleece lining so I literally live in them all Fall and Winter. Throw on some leggings and riding boots and you have yourself a super comfortable yet chic outfit.

Peplum Sweater– Peplum is flattering on EVERYONE. If you’re looking for a sweater that’s dressier than the casual chunky sweater, this Ted Baker sweater would be it. It looks great paired with skinny jeans or leggings.

Quilted Handbag– A quilted handbag is a classic and if a Chanel is not in your budget right now (certainly not mine!), this Rebecca Minkoff number is pretty close. And the lining is super cute!

Hope you enjoyed my post! Click on any of the images above for more info and details!

Back to School Clothes

Summer is sadly coming to an end which means back to school clothes shopping is in full effect.  My oldest daughter who starts Kindergarten next week (yup, totally going to ball my eyes out when she steps on that bus) still let’s me pick out most of her clothes.  I still can’t believe we haven’t reached that “I’m not going to wear that” struggle yet but I’m  just going to roll with it as long as I can.  I’m pretty sure this will not be the case next year.  When it comes to shopping for my girls clothes I usually shop at Old Navy, Gap and Target.  They really do have the cutest stuff and the best sales.  Sometimes I’ll branch out to Nordstrom, Zara and H&M if I’m looking for something specific.

This post I’m going to focus on my recent haul from Gap and Old Navy.  Gap is having major sales right now which include 40 percent off  if you use your gap card and 25.00 in gap cash for every 50.00 that you spend. Old Navy is also having major sales and they too are giving 10.00 in super cash for every 25.00 that you spend.  With all these awesome deals going on, I literally got all of the items posted below for a little over 100.00!  I love the black booties which can be worn with dresses, skirts and pants as well as the slip on metallic sneakers which I got in icy pink.   Leggings were a  must for  5 each! I got them in the blue buffalo plaid and the white plaid. And the adorable chambray shirt…I mean who doesn’t want to dress just like mommy! 🙂  I love putting my girls in clothes that are mini versions of what I have.  Overall, I think I got some really great staples for my little kindergartner that she can wear now and into the winter.  Click on any of the images below for more details and prices.

Have a great weekend!

Beach House Inspiration

With the HOT temperatures lately, all I can fantasize about is owning a beach house by the water. I mean how amazing would it be to wake up every morning with ocean views out your window!  One of my favorite places to visit in the summer is Nantucket and if I had to pick anywhere to live in the summer months, Nantucket would definitely be the place.  It’s quiet, picturesque and the beaches are absolutely beautiful!  Not only do I dream about owning a beach house on Nantucket some day, but I also try to envision what it would look like and how I would decorate it.  Normally, I love lots of color in my house but with a beach house I would stick to a soft and soothing color palette of whites, greys, light blues and dark blues.  And for a little pop of color, I’d use orange, yellow and green. Below I have posted some beautiful house interiors and exteriors that give me major beach house inspiration. Enjoy!

Nordstrom Anniversary Sale-Kids Category

Early Access to the Nordstrom Anniversary sale continues but not for long, it opens to the public on Friday. Today’s roundup is for the kiddos. When it comes to buying children’s clothes I just can’t resist. I’m sure I’m not the only one. When I see mini size shoes, clothes, anything…I just have to have it! I literally have to talk myself out of buying things and remind myself that kids grow so fast! I will however splurge a little more on my older daughter’s clothes because I know when she outgrows them, she can pass them down to her little sister.

I’m such a fan of the brands Tucker + Tate and Pippa & Julie. They have the cutest clothes (as you can see by most of my picks), so I was super excited to see them as part of the Anniversary Sale. The Nicole Miller black and white peplum shirt with the Peter Pan collar is just too adorable too. Even though I have girls, I couldn’t help myself from picking out some cute things for the boys as well. I mean seriously those teeny tiny Sperry’s for 36.00! And the bomber jacket, shirt and pants for a total of 35.00! There’s no way you could buy those 3 things separately for less than that. Click on any of the images below for more details and sale prices.

Have a great day!!
